What's up my mafk's,newbie from SC
What's up everyone, thought I'd go ahead and introduce myself,I'll give you a lil bit of my very little background lol,I've only been tattooing for 4 months and I've only done 2 tattoos so far,and no you can't see em there shit in my opinion ,there a lot better than other tattoos I've seen of people's first ones but I'm a perfectionist,so yeah I've made all the rookie mistakes lol,I bought my machines off amazon, that lasted about 2 weeks,my lines were staying so I threw em in the trash and got some handmade kylin machines and I love those damn things, but I've never tried anything else,so I've spent the past months learning as much as possible and buying quality supplies,I just signed up for art classes and the classes to try to get my license,I just got some electrosyn and I'm excited to try it out, anyways I figured this is the one place I could come without getting bashed for not working in a shop and learning on my own,so yeah that's me,I do have a question and let me know if this is wrong place to put it but has anyone tried the cheyenne flex grips with the safety cartridges? And can you really just do a cold sterilization on them and it still be safe?

That is my first tattoo,I had to go over it again cause the other machines were trash and wouldn't lay ink

well first these should be in the tattoo pics section
second your photos are aweful they are blurry and unclear , you need nice clear images to get proper feedback
the lines are preety bad , very wobble inconsistent and blown out you should practice on paper more when you can pull a nice clean line with a pen then you can do it with a machine

They were good images when I uploaded then, huh I'll find another way to upload them, yeah my lines with those other machines were horrible, they've gotten better since I got my new machines, but I've been putting a caligriphy pen in and using that, it seems like it's helping.

Welcome aboard....Gotta agree,, first tattoos are never that good,,, from what I can see the lines are rough,,, don't like the solid red ladybird too,,, better to not solid fill like that,, looks like a kids colouring book, leave highlights of plain skin or blend some other colours in there... did you do them on yourself?

Don't see the point of cartridges,, better with disposable tubes and regular needles,,,

That's what I'm using now, I use tatsoul wrath nexus diamond tubes for lining and wrath vortex for shading and color packing, they've helped a lot,but I've heard with the cheyenne flex grip and cartridges you don't have to use an autoclave,so it'd save a lot of $,but I'm not gonna do it if it's not 100% safe.

Re: What's up my mafk's,newbie from SC
I don't think you save money with cartridges,,, quality ones are expensive same as regular tubes and needles and cheaper ones are well,,,,, cheaper,,,,my local eh officer wouldn't allow me to cold sterilise steel grips or piercing clamps because there would be a safety issue so I don't see any difference with Cheyenne grips, there could be an issue......

Check out the cheyenne grip and cartridges, that's what there claiming is that no ink or blood gets in the grip so you can do a cold sterilization with madacide.check it out if you got time and let me know what you think, cause if I could do a safe cold sterilization and just have to buy only cartridges I'd save a lot of $.

Re: What's up my mafk's,newbie from SC
Cheyenne carts have a rubber membrane inside to stop any contaminants from entering the grip, some others do as well but most don't,,,,, why do you want to use carts??

Re: What's up my mafk's,newbie from SC
It would save a little bit of $,I could just buy grips for my machines and then only have to buy cartridges after that instead of buying needles and tubes for each needle I use.

Firstly,,, what machines do you intend to use these tubes on?
Secondly, I don't think you will save much if anything at all.
Also u saw a write up in standard needles where someone examined lots of different types under a microscope and there was no difference between the expensive ones to the cheap ones,, I think there was one exception, can't remember the make but it was a difference in the needles, doesnt mean they would work any better,,
You use expensive tubes,,you don't need to,,, I use disposables and just get the regular, cheap ones. I've tried expensive ones and don't find them any better to use,, maybe a bit more flexible but that seems to be with the hardness of the grip, not so much the main tube itself,,,,,

My bad yall I didn't get a reply notification, yeah your probably right on the expense, idk I was using cheap tubes I bought off amazon and when I switched to wrath I did notice a difference,I think my biggest problem now is my machine is set up for power lining and I haven't got it tuned right to match my hand speed,I'm using hand made Kylin machines and I really like them I just gotta get them tuned right,I've heard so many different ways to tune it to make it slower, does anyone have any experience with this,do I change the front springs or put my contact screw at a little under a nickel? I'm gonna try to work on it tonight I just haven't had time lately.

I think carts are best used with direct drive or machines with no damping in them because the spring in the carts works against damping and spring tension on coils....

Re: What's up my mafk's,newbie from SC
I was debating whether to try carts or not, think they would of worked out more expensive than ordinary tubes so iv just stick with what I know.
I wouldn't trust cold sterilization, just use disposables and you can't go wrong..

Yeah I was weary of it,knowing my luck I'd be the one person to have a problem with the carts,so I'm just gonna stick to my wraths, there just expensive af lol
