and knockout a portrait of my favorite pop star just for fun

its is a joke

i used a new technique i learned about, its more complex and sophisticated than just a filter.

its not letting me post a link so you can just search "How To Create a Pencil Drawing From a Photo In Photoshop - Line Drawing Effect" in youtube if you wanna see.

it also good for turning images into outline stencils, better than the filters

I keep meaning to get a copy of photoshop as all I use is microsoft paint, I could do with learning some of this modern trickery to make my life easier Wink

A very, very basic art package which has always been free with windows. You cant do much with it but it does have its uses.

You need to adjust the levels (command M) and pull the curves to bump up your blacks (or set the 'black point' with the dropper tool), the image needs a greater range of tonal values. 10 second job

yeah, for sure
i do that for almost everything.

first time i used a color dodge layer with Gaussian blur adjusment to bring out the outlines. that was the most powerful method and i've never seen it before. i was intrigued.

couple of mentions about tattoo stencils with that method also. supposed to be better than using photocopy or whatever filter to bring out the outlines.

and i totally had lou fooled!
