Packing solid black Empty Packing solid black

I have a hard time Packing solid black. I always have to go back in after it heals. I have my color packer set to run 80 cps loaded and it feels like its too slow or something. I try to move in very slow tight circles but even then I still have to make two to three passes. I know I'm not fucking the skin up but I don't wanna keep hitting the same spot so I'll just go over it after it heals so it could be perfectly solid. Any advice on getting it solid the first time? I'm talking about like tribal and doing large black spots.

I previously had that problem but since using a Mickey Sharpz T dial that bangs black in no problem with mags using small circles and forwards backwards, it is too harsh for black and grey though, I use a different machine for that.

What needles groupings are you using? also how much needle are you hanging out of the tube?

My favourite mag is an 11 MG1, regarding hanging out, I do it by eye, just enough to put in the ink without snagging on the skin.

I was using a 15cm and I don't really let that hang out the tube but my throw is about 3mm but I'm not going that deep I don't ride the tube. I go in deep enough to feel the vibration of the skin while I'm stretching.

15 mags are probably not the best idea for packing in solid color. I also found that regular (non curved) mags pack better color, I would go with a 7 or 9 mag. Also a shorter needle taper helps too, longer taper= smaller holes= the more time you have to work the ink in the skin.
