rotary machine cam movement
just noticed theres a slight movement (inwards/outwards) of the cam bearing. is that normal? seems theres a chance of needle movement during use

What make of machine is it? I presume you mean a forward backward movement (end float) and not side to side which would be a collapsed bearing, if it is a machine such as a Rotary Works they use MFA motors which dont have a bearing as such and do wear out pretty quick hence why the motors are only £10 each, the motors fitted to Wayne Taylor machines were Maxon and now Faulhaber, they do have a proper bearing and have no end float what so ever but these motors cost £70 each.
