I put a set of eikon coils on 1 of my hoodlum machines but when I tighten them they slant a little meaning the a/bar isn't hitting truly flush

I had to add in a couple of thicker washers, would the screws not getting into the coils as much as they should, could that be the reason?

I don't know to be honest, could the thread be messed up on the coil?
