Back on pigs

Post by Whippet on Fri May 06, 2016 10:29 pm

So been away and glad to get back to something more interesting.

Tried out a thicker liner (9RL) and first attempt with some Silverback grey wash. I love the wash (as an ink), not sure about the bold lines, as they lack variation and have flat solid ends. This is not so apparent with thinner lines (I think). Image is about 10cm high.

It has its peculiar little characteristics that I have to work around.

Some of it can really cut up, like working with a scalpel. I think if its off the back of the pig it's naturally much tighter.

The other thing is as there's no blood or anything to clot (I think) you can literally knock the lining back out with shading / colour. On the rag doll I had to re-line some parts at the end.

Though I still think its a great practise material.
